Springsteen, Dylan &....Whitesnake?...Lead The News....
10 Oct 2004

Being a very visual person, I thought some of our membership would also appreciate new artwork that is being shared, for new titles being released in the next 5-7 days. We have talked about these releases over the last couple of weeks. Above are all the Tarantura and Akashic LED ZEPPELIN releases scheduled to street October 18th. Below, you'll find the new ERIC CLAPTON Mid-Valleytitle, along with that new CSNY "Studio 1969", the ROD STEWART/RON WOOD Hollywood Bowl release and THE NEW BARBARIANS "California Grooving" from Exile.

This week has been a HUGE week for BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN fans & collectors. Of course, the band is headlining their "Vote For Change" series of concerts around the Midwest & East/Southeast here in the U.S.(there have been some nice audience recordings from these shows posted over at both STG & EZ Torrent!)...but, more pertinent for our purposes here is the news that both new Crystal Cat releases, "Main Point Night" and "Agora Night", have streeted...along with WatchDog's "Live On The Darkness On The Edge Of Town Tour" DVD!!! We have secured copies of all of these titles, look for the reviews to post
asap here at HotWacks On-line!

Also from Crystal Cat this week, came news of a couple of new releases...PATTI SMITH "Black Hair Reflects" is an audience recording from The Circus in Stockholm, Sweden on July 13th, 2004...the other is BOB DYLAN "Bleeding Shadows", which documents his concert at Motril, Spain on July 10th, 2004.

Speaking of Dylan, we mentioned earlier in the week that there is a new Bob Dylan-exclusive label that has surfaced called, Hollow Horn. Hollow Horn's debut title is called "Walk Like A Duck Smell Like A Skunk"...it brings together all the worthwhile studio recordings from the 1961-1964 period (from BOB DYLAN through to ANOTHER SIDE OF) in one release. The is reportedly the first of eight releases that will cover all of Dylan's unreleased studio output (minus multiple versions of the same tracks) in a well thought out, play through series, that will feature excellent digi-pack style packaging (i.e. no jewel cases) that, when the series is out in it's entirety, will form a well rounded collection in terms of both content and design. Sound quality is promised to be first rate, with several of the tracks from upgraded sources, and the occasional track will be making it's first appearance on a factory pressed release (in the case of this first volume, the opening, albeit short song.) Here is the trackisting for this first release from Hollow Horn:

DISC ONE: CONNECTICUT COWBOY - HE WAS A FRIEND OF MINE - MAN ON THE STREET - HOUSE CARPENTER - GOIN' TO NEW ORLEANS - RAMBLIN' GAMBLIN' WILLIE - CORRINA, CORRINA - THE DEATH OF EMETT TILL - TALKIN' JOHN BIRCH PARANOID BLUES - LONESOME WHISTLE - ROCKS AND GRAVEL - LET ME DIE IN MY FOOTSTEPS - TALKIN' HAVA NAGEILAH BLUES - SALLY GAL - BABY PLEASE DON'T GO - MILK COW'S CALF'S BLUES - WICHITA - TALKIN' BEAR MOUNTAIN PICNIC MASSACRE BLUES - BABY I'M IN THE MOOD FOR YOU - QUIT YOUR LOW DOWN WAYS - WORRIED BLUES - THAT'S ALRIGHT MAMA - MIXED UP CONFUSION - BALLAD OF HOLLIS BROWN - KINGSPORT TOWN - WHATCHA GONNA DO?

DISC TWO: HERO BLUES - WHATCHA GONNA DO? - I SHALL BE FREE - I SHALL BE FREE - HERO BLUES WALLS OF REDWING - SEVEN CURSES FAREWELL - ETERNAL CIRCLE - PATHS OF VICTORY - NEW ORLEANS RAG - MOONSHINER - ETERNAL CIRCLE - ONLY A HOBO - THE TIMES THEY ARE A CHANGIN' - THAT'S ALRIGHT MAMA - LAY DOWN YOUR WEARY TUNE - SUZE - NEW ORLEANS RAG - DENISE - MR TAMBOURINE MAN - I SHALL BE FREE #10 - MAMA, YOU BEEN ON MY MIND

Mainstream also has a new BOB DYLAN/TOM PETTY & THE HEARTBREAKERS double-disc set arriving soon..."Sukiyaki Party At Budokan" 2CD features a recording from The Budokan, Tokyo, Japan on March 10, 1986 during the last leg of the "True Confessions" tour.

The Heavy Metal oriented label, Bondage Music, has a slew of new releases also...JUDAS PRIEST "Sweden Rock Festival" is a single-disc title recorded at Norje, Solvesborg this past June 10th...Bondage is also offering up 3 new WHITESNAKE releases,..."Burn, Bremen, Burn" is recorded at Pier 2 in Bremen, Germany last month on September 11th..."Memories of Deep Purple" is from Leipzig, Germany on September 14th, 2004...and "Burn...in the Still of The Night" is from the following evening on September 15th at Columbiahalle in Berlin. All are 2CD sets.

Finally, Picadilly Circus has a new PAUL McCARTNEY 3CD set called "St. Petersburg Russia"...that includes both the live show & soundcheck from Palace Square on June 20th, 2004. Also, Vinyl Gang has re-release/remaster version of THE ROLLING STONES "Live At Leeds" arriving soon.

In closing, I just want to welcome all the new members who have signed on this week!...glad to have you along! Stay tuned for more news throughout the coming week..INCLUDING!...a new release scoop from GENUINE MASTERS soon!
