The Brief Memorial Day Bootleg News at HotWacks On-line...
30 May 2005

Fairly quiet on the News front this past week. I hope everyone stateside enjoyed their long Memorial Day Holiday weekend.

Bootleg News out of Japan over the weekend...Trial has several new titles being released this week...ROBERT PLANT AND STRANGE SENSATION"Aired Sensation" is a 2CDR set that compiles two soundboard recordings...Disc 1 is recorded live at Scala Theatre, London on April 27th andDisc 2 is from the BBC's Maida Vale Studios on June 22nd, 2002 for a performance on the Richard Allison Show. Also from Trial are 2 JETHRO TULLrecordings, both taped during back-to-back performances at the Shibuya-kokaido in Tokyo..."For A Thousand Mothers" is from the first night onMay 11th, 2005..."Cheap Day Return" is from May 12th...then, released on Japanese DVD (label unknown at this time)is THE ROLLING STONES "Bridges To Poland", a Pro-shot/Soundboard offering from their August 14th, 1998 show at Slaski Stadium in Chorzow, Poland - this one has been in circulation for quite awhile but we'll see if we can identify any potential upgrade qualities with this title.

Speaking of the STONES, Dog 'N Cat Records has unveiled their next title as "Seattle Supersonic"...a great audience tape from the Coliseum in Seattle on June 4th, 1972, 2nd show. That "Supersonic" title is getting extremely old! Would someone please pass along to these labels that we're certain they can come up with something at least half-way original if they all put their pointy little heads in the same direction. Sister Morphine is readying their new STONES release as well..."Live! On The BBC Vol. 1" doesn't really provide anything newsworthy but seems to be an interesting title with previously released recordings from the Camden Theater in March of '63, Saturday Club '63, Ready Steady Go performances, Top Of The Pops, etc...essentially familiar material from 1963 to 1965.

As we shared with you late last week, the Czech CD Label Memory Records has a couple of new ELVIS PRESLEY titles on the way...both shows apparently are sourced from Master Audience Tapes that haven't been in circulation previously..."Elvis-The Midnight Hour" is mostly from his Las Vegas appearance on September 5th, 1970 - Midnight Show but has bonus tracks featured from the previous evenings' midnight show on September 4th as well...the early word is that EL is in great voice during these shows and are highly recommended. The second title is "Rockin' The Northwest" and is recorded in Eugene, Oregon November 27th, 1976...Elvis is said to be in pretty good shape during this Fall/Winter Tour and this tape apparently confirms as his voice is extremely strong throughout...the CD opens with a couple of tracks from opening act, SWEET INSPIRATIONS, to make this set quite unique. I should mention that Fort Baxter's new "Kansas City Blues" release is out now.

That's really it for now! We'll be combing for more so keep tabs on the News Ticker and I'll meet you back when we resume a normal posting schedule next Sunday here at HotWacks On-line. Have a great week.
