The HotWacks On-line Bootleg News...

Strange week on my front and I'm running late tonight, so I'm cutting to the chase...Hot off the wire tonight is word of  a new double-CD BEATLES set coming soon from MisterClaudel called "Strawberry Fields Forever - Penny Lane Sessions"...Disc One begins with SFF Demos from Santa Isabel, Spain in the Fall of 1966 through the evolution of the tune with overdub sessions, different takes from EMI Studios, mixing and editing sessions in November/December 1966...Disc Two jumps right into the "Penny Lane" overdub session takes and follows with the different mono and stereo versions...also included are similar evolutionary presentations of "Hello Goodbye", "Baby Your A Rich Man" and "All You Need Is Love".

"God Knows Everything" is the next BOB DYLAN release from Tambourine Man Records and the 2CD set features his April 6th, 2006 show at the Maricopa County Events Center in Sun City West, Arizona...TMR also tacked on some bonus tracks from Birmingham, Alabama on April 30th....From Howard Carter Music Company comes FRANK ZAPPA & THE MOTHERS OF INVENTION "Mono & Acetates" 3CD + bonus CDR release which compiles the mono version of "Freak Out" with digital Acetate transfers of  "Lumpy Gravy", "We're Only In It For The Money" and "Uncle Meat" demo Acetate...NIRVANA's Paradiso performance from Amsterdam 1991 seems to be a hot project of late but Sappy Music Entertainment may well have the definitive version on the way, pairing an FM Reel-to-Reel Master audio on CD with the proshot film from near master source on DVD, the set is titled "Brain Drain"...Seymour Vision has just announced the MILES DAVIS DVD set "Never Be The Same" which features his July 28, 1985 performance at Yomiuri Land Open Theatre East in Tokyo in color/proshot quality - and the first 200 sets get a bonus DVD-R of the October 4, 1981 proshot video of his live show at Shinjuku Shinjuku Nishi-Guchi Hiroba, Tokyo.

New Silver Disc announcements out of Japan over the weekend include the latest ERIC CLAPTON release from Beano called "Blue Sky" 2CD, and it presents an excellent audience tape from Stadthalle in Vienna on October 6th, 1979 during his Backless Tour...The next release from Darker Than Blue will be RAINBOW "The End Of The Rising" 2CD, which offers yet another fine recording from the audience at The Budokan during the evening show on December 16, 1976 - also,  Rising Arrow has the RAINBOW set "Triumphant Return" 2CD hitting the streets shortly and that one contains their January 11th, 1977 Nagoya show taped from the audience and will be a Limited Issue of only 300 copies...Mainstream will issue the CROSBY, STILLS, NASH & YOUNG double-disc, "Fillmore Bluebird" which captures the June 2nd, 1970 Fillmore East performance...New from Rockmasters will be FREE "Alive And Well" 1CD which provides a "PA Sound Mix" of Berkshire, UK show at The Bracknell Sports Centre on October 14, 1972...and it appears we will get yet another stab at the Mike Millard  ROLLING STONES tape from July 13, 1975, excellent as it is, from Dog N Cat Records..."Love You Live Los Angeles" 2CD was originally posted over the weekend as being from the July 9th, 1975 L.A. Forum show but that appears to be an interpretation error on my part.

My god there is just an avalanche of CDR and DVD-R titles that were relayed in the last 48 hours but it's simply impossible to list all of those so I'm going to stop the presses right there for this week.  If I can get it all organized efficiently and IF I can find the time to do so - I'll upload it to this column mid-week.  It's a tall-order though!  Do visit often and click back over here to see if I got lucky and managed to do that.  Some last thoughts to share...Picture Perfect's latest BEATLES DVD's are the real deal and I can't wait to get the reviews posted this week...the same goes for the new BOB DYLAN & THE BAND DVD "69-70", priceless gems all of them!  Don't forget to order your minty fresh copy of Hot Wacks XV - The Last Wacks from Hot Wacks Press this week!...and thanks for all of your support.  Have a good one!
