Leading off the news this week with the latest from Watch Tower...coming soon is JEFF BECK WITH STANLEY CLARKE "A Battle Without Honor And Humanity" 2CD, a nice audience recording from Nagoya-shi Kokaido in Aichi, Japan on November 26, 1978...Scorpio has a couple of new titles on the way, CREAM "Railway Hotel" 1CD provides some very early recordings, live at Klook Kliek Railway Hotel in West Hempstead, London on November 15th, 1966 - and  3 tracks from The Whiskey A Go-Go in Los Angeles on September 4th, 1967...and LED ZEPPELIN "BBC Archives" 4CD offers up 2 sources of the April 1st, 1971 Paris Theater recording - an FM Broadcast and Pre-FM source that has been in circulation for the last year or so.  In other ZEPPELIN boot news...looks like Empress Valley will continue with the DVD-Audio program, next up is "Texas Interanational Pop Festival" from August 31, 1969...Wendy Records insists on continuing with their endless parade of "defintives", coming soon is their 3rd stab at "Fatally Wanderer" 3CD, another stereo soundboard/audience mix of the September 29, 1971 Osaka concert...Beezlebub Records will issue "Refreshing Mistakes" 3CDR set very soon which claims to have 2 extra soundboard tracks that has eluded other labels to date - this features the May 26, 1977 Landover concert from the Capital Centre...I'm hoping they're not planning on splicing in that monitor mix shared over at Royal Orleans earlier in the year!...I thought it was a pretty solid show all this time, until I heard that!...Interesting recording though...but I digress.  On a related note...look for a new JIMMY PAGE & THE BLACK CROWES Euro-DVD to hit the streets, it's called "Filmed At The Greek" and features a superb 2 hour proshot vid from the Greek Theater in L.A. on October 19, 1999.

More VELVET UNDERGROUND on the way, courtesy of Northern Songs CD...details of its' contents are unclear but the disc is called "The Legendary Guitar Amp Tapes"...The ARMS Label is bound and determined to issue all of ERIC CLAPTON's European Tour in one shot...there are 4 new titles on the way from excellent audience sources:  "Pretending" 2CD features his May 16, 2006 Royal Albert Hall peformance, "After Midnight" 2CD is his May 22nd RAH show, "Why Does Love Got To Be So Sad" 2CD, his May 25th RAH..and "Layla" 2CD documents his July 7th Lucca, Italy concert.  In ROLLING STONES boot news Idol Mind Productions will be amongst those labels to release the Glasgow FM Broadcast from Hampden Park on August 25th...the Limited Edition Set is titled, what else?..."Glasgow Broadcast 2006"!...the first 150 copies will come in a numbered gatefold sleeve.  No details are being provided just yet but Seyour Records is readying a new JIMI HENDRIX DVD called "The Legend Of Hendrix" and we'll share the particulars on that one as they become available...

Rounding up the rest of the Japanese issues for the week includes...new RAINBOW from the Rising Arrow Label:  "The Raging God" 2CD features an excellent audience tape from the Tivoli Koncertsal in Copenhagen, Denmark on the 22nd of September, 1976..."Cold Winter" is a 4CD plus bonus CDR set that pairs up 2 different audience tapes from the same show at Nakajima Sports Center, Sapporo on January 27, 1978 - the bonus disc is recording from a possible 3rd recording at the same venue???...On the Darker Than Blue Label comes vintage DEEP PURPLE, "King Of Scream" 1CD plus a very limited bonus DVD-R...the audio disc features the newly shared tape from The Swing Auditorium in San Bernadino, California on January 28, 1972 - the "South Bank Summer" DVD features a proshot London performanc from Queen Elizabeth Hall on July 28, 1970 and broadcasted on September 5th, 1970.  Sirene is releasing TODD RUNDGREN'S UTOPIA "Communion With The Sun" 3CDR set that pairs up 2 nice Japanese recordings...the Nakano Sun Plaza show from Tokyo on December 12, 1976 and then what is actually a bonus disc featuring a soundboard tape from the Venue Club in London on September 5th, 1982...Coming from Power Gate are TESLA "Five Man Acoustical Jam In New York" 2CDR, a June 27th, 1990 stereo soundboard from The Ritz...and, IRON MAIDEN "Monsters Of Rock 1988" 2CDR, their Castle Donnington set from August 20, 1988.

A final word, an update actually...expect the next two DVD's from 4Reel Productions to hit the streets in the next week:  THE WHO "Voorburg 1973" and AEROSMITH "Monsters Of Rock 1979"...their ROLLING STONES "L.A.
