The Jeff Beck Group Tour de Force CD Scorpio LabelGrand Funk Railroad Into The Sun CD Scorpio LabelYes Sound Of The Rainbow CD Scorpio Label

It's nearly all about the Scorpio Label this week in release news...backing up a skootch, it looks like I completely missed pointing out a couple of their releases last week.  Out now are THE JEFF BECK GROUP "Tour De Force" 1CD, which is another release of the Luanne's Club audience tapes of the first & second sets in Dallas on July 17, 1968 (things are good when these tapes are getting attention!)...and, GRAND FUNK RAILROAD "Into The Sun" 1CD, featuring the Honolulu soundboard tape from the University Of Hawaii on March 30th, 1970.  New announcements from Scorpio this week include DEREK & THE DOMINOS "Affirmation - Two Nights At Berkeley" 3CD, which is comprised of their Berkeley Community shows with disc 1 featuring the November 18th, 1970 peformance and discs 2 & 3 the November 19th concert...the first 200 sets get a bonus 2CDR set which is supposedly also the November 19th show but without any further info on if it's an alternate source, or what...and then there is the new YES title, "Sound Of The Rainbow" 2CD featuring an audience tape of their Boston Garden show on August 12, 1977...the other release this week is LED ZEPPELIN "Thank God It's Saturday" 3CD, yet another re-issue of the Mike Millard tape from June 25, 1977.

The new CROSBY, STILLS, NASH & YOUNG title for this week isn't all new..."Walking In A Wembley Winterland" DVD (generic japanese label) features the Wembley Stadium 1974 proshot video introduced by Aurora Borealis a couple of years ago and tags on some additional footage from San Francisco 1973...The Tinkerbell Label will continue with it's ERIC CLAPTON 2006 documentation with the 2CD set, "Vertigo", capturing Slowhand & band live at Osaka Castle Hall on November 12, 2006...Some updates/additional information on the latest trio of the SODD Labels' ROLLING STONES titles...the bonus disc for "LiveR" will feature the Oakland '69 late show audience tape, the bonus disc for "In The Park" will be the "Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out" Apple Acetate, and the bonus disc in the "Leeds" set will be the March 14th, 1971 Chalk Farm tape - these will only be included in the first 200 sets of course.  Real Live Masters will release PAUL McCARTNEY & WINGS "Wings Over Denver" 2CDR, containing the June 7, 1976 show at McNichols Arena...in other things BEATLES, a couple of japanese packages:  "The Beatles Back In 1964 At The Hollowood Bowl" remarkably packs the August 23rd show, the remixed stereo 1977 album, plus some 1964 Beatles Story and Hollywood News Reports all on one CDR..."The Beatles Kum Back" 2CDR is a re-issue of "some old collector's items" that include the "Get Back Acetate", "Glyn John's Mix Outtakes", the "First Get Back LP" & the "Second Get Back LP"...A joint-venture between the Silent Knight and Silent Sea Labels brings us "The Beatles Revolving Upgraded" 2CDR, with the first disc a sort of "sessionography" of different takes from each of the songs, and disc 2 a "Revolver Mixography" providing different mixes of the tunes.

Eric Clapton Vertigo CD Tinkerbell LabelJeff Beck O'Keefe II CD Wardour LabelPink Floyd Sign Of The Times CD Sirene Label

Bootleg News out of Japan today...Sirene will issue a couple of more contemporary PINK FLOYD titles, "Sign Of The Times" 2CD will feature the soundboard tape from the Orange Bowl in Miami on November 1st, 1987 while "Fatal Attraction" is a 3CDR plus bonus DVD-R package of 1988 tapes from Yoyogi Olympic Pool in Tokyo - the audio discs feature the March 4th concert and the DVD contains a 32 minute audience shot tape of the March 6th performance at the same venue.  Wardour has indeed downloaded and pressed JEFF BECK "O'Keefe Master II", the July 25th, 1975 late show audience tape from the O'Keefe Center in Toronto...Trial's new titles are U2 "When Love Come's To Town 1989" 3CDR, utilizing excellent audience tapes from Yokohama, Japan on November 23rd, 1989 and the Tokyo Dome on November 26th..and, PAUL SIMON "Surprise In London" 2CDR is a recent show from London's Wembley Arena on November 10th...Finallly, from Power Gate this week's announcements are DIO, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, DORO "All We Are" 4CDR a superb sounding show from the Ogden Theater in Denver on November 25th, 2000...and jumping to the present: YNGWIE MALMSTEEN'S RISING FORCE "Unleash In Singapore" 2CDR, another excellent tape from Singapore's Fort Canning Park earlier this month on November the 9th.

Addendum...Nearly forgot to plot the works from Tarantura this past week...the label has been busy with more LED ZEPPELIN titles, mostly in unannounced fashion.  "Going To California" 2CD is a paper sleeve replica edition of the old TMOQ vinyl release of the September 14, 1971 Berkeley Community Center concert and is said to be of very limited quantity of 50 copies...and then the label subsequently issued "Going To California II" featuring the previous nights' show from September 13, along with "No Quarter" 3CD with and audience source (new?) from the Earl's Court performance on Sunday, May 18, 1975.

Quick 'n dirty this week!  Thanks for stopping by and catching up.  I'll assume your compiling of 2006's Top 10 is underway???  Another tough year with some surprises in store for us yet over the next 4 weeks...we'll see!  Have a great week.
