The Scorpio Label is on a roll, unveiling several new box sets or mulitple-disc sets over the weekend.  CLAPTON fans are certainly psyched about the 4CD DEREK & THE DOMINOS title, "Assorted Rcok And Roll"...the set compiles 4 different tapes that include both the early and late shows from Port Chester, New York on December 5, 1970 - a couple of tracks from Buffalo, New York on October 29, 1970 and Suffolk Community College in Selden, New York on December 6, 1970.  On the LED ZEPPELIN front the label has transferred mono copies from Promotional Radio LPs of LZII, LZIII and Houses Of The Holy and are shared via "A Collection Of Mono Albums" 3CD...and, Scorpio has their ZEP 12CD "Studio Sessions Ultimate" ready, it appears the extra disc worth of material (vs. Antrabata's 1992 Outtakes 11CD Box), is made up of the studio session tracks that were shared or circulated a couple of years ago and subsequently issued on commercial bootleg via Empress Valley's Lost Sessions EP's.  The new Scorpio collection seems to have those more recent discoveries sifted into the running tracklist chronologically and the session tracklistings re-indexed.  Also coming from Scorpio is the JIMI HENDRIX 5CD Box, "Sessions"...this set appears to be the exact same sources shared via the internet about 4 years ago under the same moniker and are transferred from 1st Generation soundboards and well worth snapping up in this new release.  The material centers around The Gypsy Sun & Rainbows/Band Of Gypsies period from August of 1969 through to January 1970...."

Also announced this week..."Sophie", the new JEFF BECK WITH THE JAN HAMMER GROUP title from Wardour, the single disc features an excellent audience tape from Detroit's Masonic Temple on July 3, 1976...Yellow Dog will release the two JOHN LENNON titles "COME ON, LISTEN TO ME" 2CD which compiles rehearsal takes and outtakes from the Walls & Bridges era with the progression of "Whatever Gets You Through The Night" and more...the LENNON/YOKO ONO title "Remember New York City" 2CD provides what appears to be exhaustive redundancy of two progressons of two tracks "Remember" from September 1970 and "New York City" from February '72...The Sirene Label has several new silver disc releases announced over the last 7 days, the YES/ELP 2CD set "Best Of 1971" pairs a soundboard from Yes' Yale Bowl performance on July 24, 1971 in New Haven, Connecticuit along with a nice early London show from EMERSON, LAKE & PALMER at the Royal Theater on Drury Lane on June 20th, 1971...then there are the two new PINK FLOYD releases, "Electric Factory" 2CD, which features a great tape and performance from Philadelphia's Electric Factory on February 26, 1970...and "End & Aim" 2CD which captures the bands' December 10, 1972 concert at Palais des Sports in Lyon, France.
