The Boss with Danny, Indianapolis March 20, 2008

A nice shot of The Boss and "Phantom Dan" in Indianapolis on March 20th...the look on his face here is kind of freaky in hindsight...it sort of seems like he's saying "goodbye" in a way.  I don't know man, cancer is getting the best of us right now.  It seems like everywhere you turn somebody you know is dealing with it in some capacity.  I just lost an Aunt a couple of weeks ago who was diagnosed just after the New Year and my sister is battling a rare strain of Breast Cancer right now.  It's a cruel disease for sure.  Thanks for the tunes Danny...on with the News...

Pink Floyd Raving Maniacs Sigma LabelNeil Young Deep Chrome No Label

...so yeah, it was an incredibly quiet week and it appears a few things snuck through the ranks while I was locked in a seminar for the better part of the week, those in a minute... just announced today, from Sigma it's the new PINK FLOYD release "Raving Maniacs" 3CD, a nice audience tape from Roosevelt Stadium in Jersey City, NJ on June 15, 1975 during a stop on the Wish You Were Here Tour...then there's finally a little more NEIL YOUNG from the current tour on silver disc as we get the No Label import "Deep Chrome" 2CD which brings to the table a superbly captured audience tape from the Hammersmith Apollo in London on March 9th.  Look for the February 20, 2008 soundboard of NEIL's show at the RAI in Amsterdam on the Manga release "The Dutch Sense Of Humor" 2CD...what else is new?...BOB DYLAN titles, that's what I missed relaying.  The generic Euro label that has been procuring the nice Supper Club and 1995 European Tour sets has a new set called "Paradise Lost Tour", on this one the venue is Stabler Arena at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania on December 13, 1995.  That's PATTI SMITH at the mic with ole BOB on the cover shot below, she duets with him on one of my favorite DYLAN tunes, "Dark Eyes" on this performance tape.  I'd like to hear that.  The set also has 4 bonus tracks from the Electric Factory in Philadelphia on December 16, 1995...Tambourine Man have also offered up another 1995 document from the Never-Ending Tour trail, the 2CD set is called "Cracked Bells In A Busted Barn" and features the November 7, 1995 show at The Dallas Music Complex...

...other newly surfacing information on bootleg releases that I raked up tonight...METALLICA "Vienna 2007 - Death Is Not The End" on the See No Evil Label, a 2CD of their complete show at The Rotundanplatz in Vienna on July 5th, 2007 - plus a bonus DVD-R featuring an audience shot video synched to a soundboard tape from Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow on July 18th, 2007...WLR has been issuing silver disc product pretty consistently over the last 6 months, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt on some seemingly recent DVD titles that have surfaced...they include: THE ROLLING STONES "The Final Bang" contains the complete August 26th, 2007 show at London's 02 Arena utilizing multi-camera production...PINK FLOYD "More Journey's Through Time And Space" is a compilation spanning the years 1968-1972 on PAL formatted DVD...and THE EAGLES "Don Kirshner's Rock Concert 1974" presents the TV broadcast straight up and includes LINDA RONSTADT and JACKSON BROWNE...

Led Zeppelin Storm London DVD Swinging Pig Label    The Police Rio De Janeiro 12/8/07 Retrotone Label

...in closing, some clean-up from last week as I forgot to mention the above 2 DVD titles...LED ZEPPELIN "Storm London" is a new silver DVD title issued on The Swinging Pig Label and leverages the Third Eye Production original High Definition video source of the reunion concert last December, synched to a new and brighter audience source...THE POLICE "Rio De Janeiro Dec. 8th, 2007" on RetroTone is superb proshot of the South American performance and is issued in a slick digipack...I should just tack on the confirmation that Tarantura's latest ZEP package "Kurofune - Geisha"/"Smoke Gets In Your Eyes"/"9291971" etc, etc. 5CD set was sold out when it shipped 9 days ago and looks like a great package but the audio sources haven't been confirmed just yet. Thanks to Broken Arrow for the nice image of the inside of the set below...

...Ok, it's late and I've no more tidbits to post tonight.  I've got the bead on the review template and have much to post over the next few nights so I'll focus on that and we'll talk more bootlegs throughout the week.  Have yourself a good one and keep your browsers pointed to the News Ticker.
