Vintage Aerosmith Soundboards from Shades lead the News... | |
...A bright spot in a relatively thin week of release news, comes from the recently introduced Shades Label. Shades have two new announcements this week but clearly the most interesting is the AEROSMITH title, "East Side, West Side Blues" , a 3CD set that pair a couple stereo soundboard tapes from their Rocks Tour of 1976/1977. The set hopefully is able to provide a nice transfer of the January 4th, 1977 tape from Fukuoaka, Japan from master cassette as this has been in circulation for a number of years but left you wishing the quality and/or generation was better. The Waterloo '76 tape - also transferred from master cassette - is absolutely new to the scene and I look forward to hearing that incomplete source as well. Here is the breakdown of the title: Disc 1 (Live at Kyuden Kinen Taiikukan, Fukuoka, Japan 4th February 1977) Disc 2 Disc 3 (Live at McElroy Auditorium, Waterloo, Iowa, USA 30th April 1976) 1. Walkin' The Dog 2. Walk This Way 3. Adam's Apple 4. Lick And A Promise 5. Same Old Song And Dance 6. Train Kept A Rollin' (Slow) 7. Drum Solo 8. Train Kept A Rollin' (Fast) 9. Toys In The Attic ...the other announcement from Shades this week is KISS "Bury You Alive" 2CD, also sourced from a stereo soundboard master cassette, and this one is from Isstadion in Stockholm on September 17. 1988 from the BRUCE KULICK & ERIC CARR era. Here is the tracklisting for this one: Disc 1 Disc 2 ...Also new in the 'press release' information is the new GENESIS "Something Inside Me" 2CD from Virtuoso...this continues the conveyor belt of sweet stereo soundboards and great audience tapes from the Lamb Lies Down On Broadway campaign throughout 1975 and this one captures an early U.S. date in West Palm Beach, Florida on January 10th of 1975....here is that tracklisting: Disc 1 Disc 2 ...the only other tidbit to tie into the weekly summary is the teaser from Tarantura regarding their plans to release the LED ZEPPELIN numbered and limited edition 3CD set, "San Diego"...Mike Millard's June 19, 1977 recording from the San Diego Arena will get yet another deluxe treatment...and that's it for this Monday night. Thanks for checking in and we hope you have a nice week. Svengi, Novermber 17, 2008 |
