New ROLLING STONES & WHITESNAKE news capping off the month of June...

Deep Purple Live In Germany Darker Than Blue Label

(above)...On the surface, it would appear that the Darker Than Blue label almost instantly trumped their release from this Spring (reviewed here by Wgpsec this month) with the DEEP PURPLE title, "Live In Germany" 3CD from 1st Gen Reel tapes.  However, the fact that this weeks' announcement clearly utilizes the very same catalog disc numbers negates any real excitement here...unless you are one of the 30 collectors to snap up the 'Purple color picture sleeve'!!!...that's right, seems all they did was offer the title with a different cover - in a standard black & white, and the ridiculously limited edition color version pictured above...it just goes on and on...

The Rolling Stones Beggars Box

The Rolling Stones Blood & Butterflies 2CD BSD Label

...New ROLLING STONES titles on the way...Dog N Cat apparently needed to cover the repeatedly released bootleg standard, "Get Your Leeds Lungs Out" in a 2CD package that supplements the excellent Leeds University 1971 soundboard with their 2nd show performance at The London Roundhouse a night later on March 14, 1971...Also, coming in July are a couple of other STONES packages, the Beggars Box could be an interesting project to check out, the skeptic in me doesn't really see much of value with "Blood And Butterflies" 2CD of the July 5, 1969 Hyde Park release -aside from the fact that it's a nice graphical treatment for the front cover!...

Whitesnake Armed Forces Shades Label  Whitesnake Beating Heavy Shades Label

...Two new WHITESNAKE titles on the way from the fairly new Shades Label..."Armed Forces" 2CD leverages a master audience tape source of the bands' Tokyo performance at The Budokan on February 23, 1983...and, "Beating Heavy" 2CD gets exquisite marks on the audie tape of an October 13, 1994 show at Yoyogi Gymnasium in Tokyo...

Linda Ronstadt When Will I Be Loved DVD No Label  Led Zeppelin First Time In The Forum TCOLZ Label

...So, up to this point the news has been fairly routine and not very sexy.  That's why LINDA RONSTADT "When Will I BE LOVED" DVD is somewhat refreshing I guess...the generic label production pictured above promises an absolutely perfect quality proshot transfer of her November 16, 1976 concert at Stadthalle in Offenbach, Germany...and lets face it, she was seriously in her prime at this stage of her performing life- physically AND talent-wise!...The next LED ZEPPELIN from the TCOLZ Label should be received well by ZEP collectors.  "First Time At The Forum" 4CD will present two different audience recordings of the bands' first concert at The Great Western Forum in Inglewood (Los Angeles), California...Misterclaudel has issued the new BEATLES package "Beatles Big Night Out! 1963, 1964 & 1965", a 1CD/2DVD set that compiles both Big Night Out! of '63 & '64 on CD with both Blackpool Night Out concerts of 1964 and 1965 on DVD, very fun to have them expand on these performances from what they've done previously...

Below, Sigma announced two new PINK FLOYD titles last Tuesday..."Lund Master" 2CD documents their March 20, 1970 show at Akademiska Foreningens Stora Sal, Lund, Sweden via audience tape.  The title is limited to a run of 200 copies..."Deep In Space" 2CD is another limited edition of 200 and features June 4, 1971 Dusseldorf, Germany show from the audience...
