REVIEW:

Looking for a good AC/DC DVD video compilation?  This is a VERY nice start!  This generic product proved enticing enough to give it a view, and it was worth the time.

The 2 core concerts here are some of the best live AC/DC captured on video.  The Glasgow concert provides material that was actually used for their 1978 Live LP If You Want Blood...You Got It!  And this video is the best, pro-shot, Bon Scott era footage around, capturing the band at what I consider their peak in '78 during the UK Powerage Tour.  Wonderful.   A low-gen source tape was used and the stereo broadcast audio is fantastic.  (It would still be nice to have a little cleaner source, but this is great.)

The second feature is really pretty amazing.  If it wasn't for the absolutely incredible energy being displayed by both, the band....AND the audience, you would have to laugh at then new singer, Brian Johnson.  He just doesn't look the part with his wiry afro hair and somewhat comedic stature.  But they mean business here!  This was the bands' first visit to Japan and they had a lot of funk to shake, coming off the death of Bon Scott and making the decision to carry on.  INTENSE performance.  The Back In Black LP was really tearing up the charts and an incredible rock n' roll story unfolded.

The above two shows are worth the price alone, but we have some bonus footage for added value.  Seeing Bon live at Castle Donnington is fun and the Saturday Night Live appearance(s) is nice to have, but the Canadian feature/exerpts aren't anything really to talk about.  Nor is the Skydome segment.  As you would expect, quality varies.

If you enjoy the band, this is a good title to pick up.
