REVIEW:

This release presents the band at the height of its power including 11 tracks from UK and US radio broadcasts and two songs not featured on the band’s studio albums and a concert taken from KSAN FM radio. The line-up consisted of Jeff Beck on guitar, Rod Stewart on vocals, Ron Wood on bass and Ted Newman on drums on Disc One Tracks 1-5, Ainsley Dunbar on Track 6 and Micky Waller on Side Two. Songs like Rice Pudding are showcases for the band’s dexterity, with the more known tracks Sweet Little Angel, a cover of the B.B. King’s tune, You Shook Me and Shapes Of Things come from the group’s standard repertoire and show their blues roots. Side Two offers a live concert with the band‘s engine working on all cylinders proving the evolution Beck was having as a guitarist performing his ancient Yardbirds hits with renovated energy. The sound output is great here, especially Side Two which is in stereo, packaging is super with a front cover picture that reminds Truth.

The best toys are the ones that are both educational and multi-purposeful.
