Second in a row, Nantes is the other concert from the Dylan 1984 European tour to be released by Midnight Dreamer; this release doesn't bring out the superb sound that was a big surprise opn the Copenhagen 1984 set but it still delivers, although lacking bottom end there is still good stereo sound with Dylan's vocals, Taylor's guitar, and the drums, in evidence. It is not that Greg Sutton's bass is inaudible but possibly mid-frequencies are missing giving an overall "tinny"sound, in comparison to the aforementioned Copenhagen recording. Each show of this tour  starts with the full band and usually after 7 numbers there is an acoustic set, that in this case lasts for 5 songs, before the electric set starts again. The second part is usually unpredictable, depending on Dylan's mood; in this case in Nantes after a couple of acoustic tracks on the last of which Santana joins ("The Times They Are A Changin'") and then depends on the night how long the show goes on. Here there are actually 4 encores with seldom played tracks like "It Takes A Lot To Laugh, It Takes A Train To Cry" (first time played here on the tour) or "Leopard Skin Pill Box Hat" that give this concert added value.
