REVIEW: |
This
release has been rightly pressed on silver disc because it presents a real
upgrade of Faces broadcasts, thanks to some great discovery and great digital
rebroadcasts. At first the Marquee concert that happened on 7 December 1970 and
was originally broadcasted by German WDR tv in January 1971 has been
rebroadcasted by the same tv in 2013 and so we have a much better version of
what was circulating; the same can be said for Sympathy for the Devil, a tv
program that had no connection with the Stones song, but that shows brief
excerpts of Love in Vain and of a weird a cappella sketch by Rod Stewart that
reads some lyrics written on a wall. Next is one song from the Rainbow Theatre
from 1971m rebroadcasted by Swedish tv and then 5 songs taken originally from
Top of the Pops, but rebroadcasted some years ago by German/French tv ARTE.
These are by dar the best looking of the lot with crisp footage and excellent
sound. The last tracks come from Voorburg 1973 a well known concert
that has been rebroadcasted again and is now in great shape. On the first
numbered copies that have a round sticker on cover comes as a bonus a DVD-R
that feature Sounds For Saturday, the well known 1971 BBC broadcast from London
also in great colour quality.
