REVIEW:

This Faces release presents the band s 1973 last concert with Ronnie Lane that happened in June at the Edmonton Theatre in London. In fact Ronnie Lane s last show was on the 6th of June (even the ticket photographed inside stems from the 6th), but it is uncertain if this recording comes from the 4th (unavailable so far) as claimed on the back cover or from the 6th.   This is however a great sounding document of the gig in excellent stereo soundboard. The set list features the best songs of the Faces in concert at that time. The title refers to a colloquial Scottish way used to describe a pint of beer, something all in the band were very keen on. This concert was already released in the past in 2001 as Party Hogs (Roaring Mouse 70010) even if the inlay said it was coming from Edmonton in Canada, where the Faces never played. This release is however better sounding presenting the concert  said to be coming from an FM broadcast which has great quality; the thing is that the show was broadcasted by British TB as Ooh La La With the Faces, so maybe a master copy of that recording has been located and that is where this audio comes from. The band is also playing one of its better performances and the fact that is the last with Ronnie Lane which will be replaced by Tetsu Yamauchi former Free bass player marks an historic gig; the band with Tetsu will eventually come back to London Edmonton s Theatre on 24th December of the sme year but no recording exists of that show. The audience participation is very high and certainly fans contribute to that very special night s success. Godfather has decided to add some extra tracks coming from two different BBC broadcasts from earlier on offering different numbers in very good quality too. Richmond is actually sung by Ronnie Lane while the last number is Ronnie Wood showcase for his slide playing.

The best toys are the ones that are both educational and multi-purposeful.
