REVIEW:

This release wants to highlight Jagger s collaborations with other artists including his own solo work beside work with the Stones. It is split over 4 discs and presents many hard to find tracks that only collector have pursued over the years together with other ones easily accessible. Of course there are redundancies and also songs where it is an over estimate believing Jagger played on (for example many tracks come from Leslie West The Great Fatsby album while only "High Roller" featured Jagger for sure). On Disc One we get tracks from Ruthless People Soundtrack and his brother Chris Jagger songs from the album Atcha followed by the track all the Stones recorded with the Chieftains. Follows one song from Ron Wood solo album from Paris where he was overdubbing 1234 at the same time the Stones were recording Some Girls; other songs included are from Dave Stewart and a live version of "I Saw Her Standing There" from the RnR Hall of Fame 1988 ending with a Yoko Ono track and a song from Deep Down Under film from October 1988. Disc Two presents another, more recent, due with brother Chris for the Knights of the Blues Table compilation, well known work with Peter Tosh, lots of unrelated songs from Leslie West and a collaboration for Jimmy Rip solo album, ending with songs from Dr.John The Sun, Moon & Herbs from 1971 and the Living Colour song from 1987. Disc Three starts with the excellent "Nothing But The Wheel" from a more recent Peter Wolf solo album, followed by   the very first Chris Jagger song from his 1973 first album and the Andrew Loog Oldham Orchestra track from the Ronettes repertoire from 1964; then Leslie West only track to feature Jagger s guitar playing for sure and the rest of the songs come from the 1992 Celebration of the Blues concert from London. The last disc starts with another B side solo song, followed by the first collaboration with Peter Wolf from 1984, the well known song with Carly Simon from late 1972, more Dr.John and the three blues songs with Eric Clapton and Stu from August 1965. The last songs are just bits coming from the film Performance (not in the soundtrack) where Jagger plays and sings known classic blues from Robert Johnson. A nice compilation that could have included some more songs but serves right in order to highlight the extreme variety of styles and genres that Jagger has approached over the years throughout his musical journey.
