REVIEW: |
This newly released
10" EP presents the bluesy side of Mick Jagger by himself, with his band assembled for the Australian tour in 1988 and with the Stones. A very nice compilation with great packaging from a tasty high gloss cover to the great red and black thick vinyl platter. All songs on Side A have come out officially, the first two on a cd that was released in 2006, while the last track, is called "Blue" but has nothing to do with blues music (apart from a great harp) however it is such a great song that it is a pity Jagger himself didn't put it into his compilation that came out some time ago (The Best of Mick Jagger), leaving for collectors only the single CD release (officially). Side B starts with three tracks from the 88 Tour Rehearsals that happened in
Sydney before the surprise warm up gig that launched his solo tour; the last song comes from the Stones summer work at RCA Studios. This bootleg release covers that hole too, allowing fans to remember this song by adding it to the set list. This is a very nice release that comes out in a strictly numbered edition, but will appeal fans for sure: an example on how to create a nice collector's item.
