REVIEW:

Here we have one of Jane's Addiction's most legendary shows in perfect soundboard quality.  For those of us who never saw the original lign-up in concert this CD is the next best thing.  This show was just prior to Ritual De Lo Habitual really taking off and you can hear the band just killing on stage.  This is a very hot show full of attitude and fire.  The infamous "Show Throwing Incident" happened the night before but apparently the same person attended this concert and decided to throw a Birkenstock up on stage and hit Perry again.  This caused Perry to call the guy out in the audience and tell him he has no sense of fashion and that he's a moron.  Definitely one of the funnier moments in Jane's Addiction history and it's preserved here for all eternity.

There's no doubt this is a professionally mixed multi-track recording. No One's Leaving and Ain't No Right were released as B-Sides on the Classic Girl Single (Warner Bros. Records 40129-2), the Classic Girl Import Single (Warner Bros. Records W0031T 9362-40077-0 (Vinyl), W0031TP 9362-40001-0 (Picture Vinyl), W0031CD9362-40077-2 (CD), and No One's Leaving was included as a B-Side to the Classic Girl 7" Import Single (Warner Bros. Records W0031 5439-19312-7).  They were also included on the Live & Rare compilation (Warner Bros. Records WPCP-4450 (Japanese Version) & 7599-26708 (Australian Version).  In 1997 Warner Bros. released Kettle Whistle (46752-2) which includes Up The Beach, Stop, Ain't No Right and the debut of Three Days from this show.

Finally the entire show was available.  The tracks on Kettle Whistle sound slightly better and the mix is a little more even due to being professionally mixed and treated in a recording studio.  This show was professionally filmed as well and parts can be seen in the Jane's Addiction movie "Gift" (Warner Bros. Video 38185-3).  The Ain't No Right Video comes from this show and is featured in Gift.

The cover features a picture of The band in what looks to be a small camper or oddly decorated apartment.  The booklet contains a few more pictures from this photo shoot as well as a few live shots of the band in action.  All together it's nicely done and professional looking.  It might be hard to track down this release due to it being an older title but if you do happen to come across a copy by all means grab it.  This is the one to have.  You will not be disappointed.
