REVIEW:

The Mighty Metallica Rides Again!!!!!!  This DVD captures Metallica at the 2007
Rock Am Ring festival in stunning Pro-Shot quality with superb stereo soundboard sound.  It's nice to see the band dive back into their catalog and pull out some heavy hitters such as Whiplash, No Remorse and Ride The Lightning.  The band does a great job of playing these tunes although Lars' timing isn't always perfect.  If you're not a musician then chances are you may not even notice.

Metallica has the soundboard audio of this show for sale as either mp3 or flac downloads on their official site.  The setlist is complete there other than "Princess Of The Night Tease" which is represented on this dvd.  They've included a few show notes on the website.  They are as follows: *This was the fourth time that Metallica had played the Rock Am Ring festival. This first time was on May 22, 1999 and the last time was on June 3, 2006… which was the kick off of the Escape from the Studio ’06 tour. *This was the first time that Whiplash was performed at Rock Am Ring.*This was the first time that Die, Die My Darling was played since June 10, 2006 at the Download Festival in Donington, England.  *This was the first time that Motorbreath was played since June 8, 2006 at the Gelredome in Arnhem, Netherlands.*This was the first time that Bleeding Me was played in Germany since November 19, 1999 at the Velodrom in Berlin featuring the Deutschen Filmorchester Babelsberg as conducted by Michael Kamen.

Apocalypse Sound has done a fantastic job with the packaging.  Tons of color
shots and screen captures from the DVD adorn all of the packaging.  The standard tri-fold packaging is what they've chosen to use again.  If you already have any of their previous releases then you know what to expect.  By no means am I a huge Metallica fan but I found this release enjoyable and worth it.  Metallica Fans Rejoice!!!!!!  This release captures the band in all their glory.  Grab it!!!!!
