REVIEW:

Very rare footage from Queen's first concert in South America on what was dubbed the "South America Bites The Dust Tour", this DVD is sourced from the video copy of the TV broadcast on Argentinian television.  Between some of the tracks an announcer is audible speaking in Spanish.  The video quality is nice but is definitely several generations away from the master.  The audio is also straight from the broadcast in nice mono.  It would have been great if Mainstream used the amazing stereo soundboard that has surfaced from this show and released as First Major Rock on Gypsy Eye, but what we have here is acceptable.

The show itself is very enjoyable.  Both the crowd and the band and Freddie in particular are in great spirits and show lots of enthusiasm.  The set list is typical from The Game/Flash Gordon era featuring a rare performance of "Need Your Loving Tonight".  Unfortunately the entire performance isn't featured in the broadcast, missing the "Mustafa/Death On Two Legs/Killer Queen" medley and "Rock It (Prime Jive)"  (the latter would have been amazing to see on video since I don't think any other footage exists).  Hopefully someday the band will officially release the entire show with extras.  But until then this is a good release and worth having.

The best toys are the ones that are both educational and multi-purposeful.
