This is the 5th and final Stones Japanese concert released by Dog N' Cat Special Edition series. The twin guitars belt out "Jumping Jack Flash" while Jagger jabs in and out in crystal clear voice. The layered guitars lead and interplay on "It's Only Rock And Roll" while Jagger postures "rock it out...come on...come on". The guitars aggressively carry "She's So Cold" while Jagger delivers the lyrics discernably sounding like he's enjoying the ride. The vocals are piercing and biting on "Oh No Not You Again". Jagger is in fine form on "Ruby Tuesday" with Keith's haunting subtle harmony complementing him. It is a nice touching version with Charlie's cymbals lending the finish. Jagger raps on "Rain Fall Down" in lower octave and the backround vocalists temporarily softly sweeten the mix. Jagger's Japanese banter between songs continues to interplay throughout the show. Lisa's muted in the backround on "Gimme Shelter" with Mick belting out "just a shot away" as this stripped down version comes rumbling to a close.

On "Tumbling Dice" it is so refreshing to hear the Stones take and run with this old war horse giving us all a realistic body check on what the Stones actually sound like without all the backup gloss in tow as Jagger sings "you've got to, you've got to keep on rolling, keep on rolling"...Charlie + Keith get nice ovasions as the band is introduced. Keith sounds chipper as he leads into "This Place Is Empty" with his smoke-tinged vocals. Charlie pounding on his drum kit evokes memories of Keith's X - Pensive Winos. A very smooth rendition. Keith delivers a spirited "Happy" in obvious fine form with the backround vocalists lending muted harmony and the horn section briefly surfacing. Happy is guitar driven with the Stones jamming away.

Jagger's falsetto is evident in "Miss You" and the crowd exhibits heightened enthusiasm as the Stones literally carry this song. Charlie pounds away on Rough Justice. Charlie, Mick + Darryl are mixed up front with the guitars faded way back. Jagger belts out an accelerated paced "Get Off Of My Cloud" infusing a blues tone almost clamoring to surface.  The Stones sound true to old form on "Honky Tonk Woman". Charlie crashes down on his kit on "Sympathy For The Devil" with the keyboards and guitars leading through the track as the backround vocals softly fill in the chorus. The guitars are crisp and biting on this 8 minute version. "Start Me Up" is fast-paced with an enthusiastic crowd blending in. "Brown Sugar" is refreshing and evokes memories of the original single. The horn segue fills in nicely in the backround eclipsed by the guitars while Jagger sings "rock it out, rock it out...yeah we have to take it to Shanghai". Jagger's vocals are in your face for the closer, "Satisfaction". His energy is simply infectious. The Stones sounded real keyed up right up front in the mix. A cool brief wah-wah jam ended the set.

Dog N' Cat have issued a beautiful collectible package here with thick glossy inserts to mimick the Vinyl Gang Product releases. This Special Edition series offers a color picture of Keith on each disc. An OBI strip graces the jewel case as well. To top it off, a separate rear insert lists the Stones Bigger Bang Spring Tour 2006 dates and venues!

Overall, an absolute joy and an incredible refreshing listen. The sound quality is breathtaking. The song set list blended nicely. This remarkable and pristine sounding recording offers us a chance to hear the Stones, Mick, Keith, Charlie, Ron, and Darryl...
