REVIEW:

This new   release from OBR presents some great sessions tracks and thanks to a very informative insert included in the packaging it is possible to identify each song. Heartbeat is the full band version that had previously appeared on All About You (DAC 187), Complete Undercover Definitive Sessions (Goldplate 1701) excerpt only, Too Much Blood (DAC 182), The Virchov Tape (DAC 181) excerpt only; this track has also been know in Keith Richards solo version from the Honeymoon tapes. Can t Find Love is version 1 that can be found on Complete Undercover Definitive Sessions (Goldplate 1701 (just 30 seconds) and on Too Much Blood (DAC 182); this is a more spaced out version with Jagger falsetto vocals that help building up the pace, he also plays piano with Richards on guitar and backing vocals (at times not synchronized). Something I Want (Your Love) previously known as What Am I Gonna Do With Your Love is the 8 minute plus demo version for the first time available here, featuring both Jagger and Richards on lead vocals. Forty (or Flirty?) is the instrumental demo take that can be found on All About You (DAC 187), Complete Undercover Definitive Sessions (Goldplate 1701) excerpt only, The Virchov Tape (DAC 181) excerpt only; here both guitars have a phasing or flanging effect which is very prominent.

Tie You Up (The Pain Of Love) that opens Side B is the 10.03 minutes early jam slower version with three guitars, an instrumental track available here for the first time. The Golden Mile is here in the 8.50 minutes version, available on All About You (DAC 187), Too Much Blood (DAC 182), The Virchov Tape (DAC 181) excerpt only. What follows is the first version of Feel On Baby, 2 minutes long, available here for the first time, featuring Richards on lead vocals and Jagger on backing vocals. The last track is Christine ,the blues instrumental that features a slide guitar, which is available also on All About You (DAC 187), Complete Undercover Definitive Sessions (Goldplate 1701) excerpt only, The Virchov Tape (DAC 181) excerpt only.

This release, pretty much unexpected, presents best quality outtakes, many of which never before heard on any vinyl/cd release that will undoubtedly soon copied by some other label, however OBR, renowned for being creator of excellence products, will always maintain his ranking among collectors having been the first to release them. Packaging is excellent as in OBR custom, the front cover reminding the old days of TMOQ platters with its tamped title, but the back side presents a cartoon cover with all songs title in evidence; the vinyl LP itself is coloured of a blue that depending on the light source, at times seems green.

The best toys are the ones that are both educational and multi-purposeful.
