REVIEW:

This compilation of Bridges to Babylon outtakes was shared by Dorn on IORR message board and Blessed Poison was in fact the working title for that album. So, the decision was to fix the sound a bit, mostly working on different source files than those posted. Some files were used before when remastering Chronological Fully Finished Studio Outtakes, but more work was done on those files, mostly with iZotope RX 10 Spectral Repair and also applying new equalization; what we have here are the Bridges to Babylon tracks that surfaced on Fully Finished Outtakes all together with some previously liberated ones from the same sessions. In detail, Out Of Control first take is an early mix of the final master take, while Too Tight first take has an additional fiddle and Keith Richards on vocals, just like the 2 versions of Lowdown (the second featuring an overdubbed mandolin) and the first take of Flip The Switch. The first take of Might As Well Get Juiced has an harmonica coming in at the end, while the second take is shorter and doesn’t have it. Saint Of Me first take is an early version with programmed drums. From a creative point of view it is inexplicable why these takes were not considered worthy of being released, especially since the band had fans wait for 8 years for the studio follow up, A Bigger Bang. The sound here is a bit richer than before, but that just prompts the desire to listen to these tracks in a fully lossless format, will we haver have such chance? Until then, however, this remains the best sounding version for these outtakes.
