REVIEW:

The Stones 1970 Frankfurt first concert recording surfaced in 1993 on Frankfurt 1970 (IMP-CD 015) soon copied in 1994 on Germany 1970 (PKO CD 9302/DL 7010) second disc, both incomplete; in 2006 a complete show was released on Roll It Over Frankfurt (EXILE EXM-011 0511042100038), while Bring On The Dancing Girls (DAC 016) in 2005 offered a mono recording for the first concert (copy of IMP) supplemented by a previously unknown different source and a stereo one for the second. In 2010 came out It’s Just A Kiss Away (DAC 101) featuring a good mono version and then The 1970 Frankfurt Tapes (no label) presented the whole concert from the reel to reel master; 2 songs can be found on Slowly Rockin’ On (VGP 249) that was released in 2000. So, there are 2 sources for this concert and this release uses the 2nd one that was also used on It’s Just A Kiss Away, without the cut that was on Street Fighting Man patched with the 1st version, also used for the introduction and the end of Honky Tonk Women.

The second concert recording appeared on Live in Frankfurt & Gothenburg 1970 (Weeping Goat 022), apart from Bring On The Dancing Girls and on The Legend Of 1970 (VGP 238) in 2000 in stereo but with some distortion. Here the distortions have been corrected, so that this recording is quite enjoyable, despite being incomplete with Little Queenie fading out.
