REVIEW: |
This album is
very peculiar since it has all official Stones versions; the cover being an
outtake from the Black & Blue advertisement campaign; it presents many
songs the band created over the years which have in common the “female†theme.
At the bottom of the back cover is written:
So are the Rolling
Stones Male Chauvinist pigs? In defending the band some people say “They were
young people in the Sixties. It was a time that no one knew what feminism or PCI
is†this may be true but the Stones continued preaching for male supremacy
through four more decades. And so their music reflected their love to women in
romantic songs like Ruby Tuesday and Angie, but let’s face it, those songs
appealing to women just in order that they will buy their records.
Don’t be
fooled, Under My Thumb, Some Girls, Sparks Will Fly and many more were directed
to men, because The Rolling Stones and all the men race are, deep in their
heart chauvinist and as Keith said once: “Some of my best friends are walking
on their toes when talking to women, but you should hear them when they are
around in a pure male environmentâ€.
So let us
enjoy some great Rolling Stones songs that we, men, can relate to in the
privacy of our own room and admire what Bill Wyman said: “You might have a
problem bringing the LP into your home as your wife might have a sullen face.
So leave it in your car and sneak it in when she’s not there, like we all do….The
last track is not by the Stones, lasts just 21 seconds and has lyrics that
match the context (open your bra, spread your legs etc.).
