This is the recording of the third night in Essen on the Stones1973 European Tour on October 11^th  and is a new audience master recently found; at first this concert came out on Essen 1973 (DP 9304) that was released in 1993, produced by The Swinging Pig and then  in 1996 came out Essen 73 (Shaved Disc Trash 01); in 2001, came out Satellite Delayed (VGP 273) which presented a recording of the same quality than above mentioned Essen 1973 adding the last two songs from the October 10^th concert. Later came out Essen 1973 3 Nights (Rockin Rott) which presented all three shows together. In 2016 Essen 1973 3^rd Night (ZR CDRST 16-01) was released presenting a 2^nd generation recording that included Jumping Jack Flash for the first time. This release has been speed corrected and also improved as far as quality. The source is the same than the above-mentioned one, but it is an earlier generation , the master was recorded on a C-60 cassette. All of the above releases except the 2016 one ended with Rip This Joint, here however Jumping Jack Flash was added and this marks its first appearance on silver disc. We shall also stress that here tape hiss and low hum have also disappeared, luckily excessive equalization has not been applied too. About sound quality, Charlie Watts drums are still a little weak, but the two guitars of Keith Richards and Mick Taylor can be heard having a reasonably good balance. Jagger is also in perfect shape just six days before the famous Brussels concerts and his vocals are clearer than in the VGP disc. Immediately after the opening number Keith plays suddenly the ending notes of Brown Sugar, however after that mistake comes a complete great Rock n Roll show as if nothing happened. Street Fighting Man which continues in the medley after Jumping Jack Flash lasts only 2 seconds, it seems the reason being that tape ended abruptly.

Examining his recording, it was about two years ago that this Jumping Jack Flash was discovered and spread by the net. This generation seems to be an earlier one compared to the VGP release, the distortion of the bass and the noises of the trebles have been softened.

Talking about packaging, front cover is strange but good looking with purple colour being less intense than on the same pictures from the show.

Gimme Shelter is crispy, Keith in Star Star is in perfect shape, Bobby Keys was still playing before being kicked off the tour due to the famous champagne bath.

Maybe that is the reason why Keith s chorus sound strangely full of tension; however, in Midnight Rambler the tension comes from Billy Preston s playing and seems to rise occasionally. The overall feeling with the sound of this release is that this is the base of a structure that is growing blunt. It is really interesting that this is not a big improvement over the VGP release, but the inclusion of Jumping Jack Flash from Essen last concert after 45 years is remarkable.
