REVIEW: |
The opening show of the Stones Urban Jungle Tour in
Rotterdam was released on tape on Urban Jungle First Night and on Three Nights at Feyenoord Stadium which was also released on cdr, as well as on Live in Rotterdam, Holland and Rotterdam 90 6 discs set including the other 2 concerts. On silver European Tour Opener Live in Holland (PKO CD 9307) first edition was packed in a silver box, including stickers inside (Keith photo & front cover)
plus
track listing sheet and
Japanese
catalogue sleeve; the second edition in a black box, but it is also available in a foldout cardboard sleeve. Released in 1994. This being a very good stereo audience recording, same source as the LP edition, but also on Live in Holland 2LP (E102621) the latter ones
having the same cover as this release. This is a nice recording with good sound although a bit distant up to Rock And A Hard Place and with the audience at times too noisy.
Unfortunately there are problems on Disc One that stops playing during Terrifying, it seems to have been badly pressed, no problem on Disc Two. After some time I finally
received
replacement for Disc One, this time plays perfectly. Packaging is pretty dull, again re-proposing what has been the front cover of the vinyl album and silver/cdr releases, how about something new? At least to differentiate it from all other versions of this concert, a bit of imagination
guys, come on. |
