REVIEW:

This box presents the first seven shows of the Stones 2018 Filter UK tour, starting with Dublin which is also the subject of the enclosed DVD ; this concert was released on cdr as Dublin, Croke Park (Rubber Duck RDPRS042) and   with the same title (no label) and No Filter in Dublin 2cdr + 1 DVD-R.(Exile. EXCDR-NF2080517A/B/C). Here quality is good but not excellent for a concert that is not one of their best, the show opener this time was Sympathy For The Devil.

The first London concert came out on cdr as London Stadium May 22,2018, as silver on Welcome Home The R.Stones (Rattlesnake 311/12), No Filter ion London First Night (Crystal Cat 1093-4) and No Filter London 1st Night (Xavel SMS 162) and as part of London is Burning set (Empress Valley EVSD 1058-63), the last two presenting multiple IEM sources. London 2 Nights 2018 is a 4 cdr set from Exile (EXCDR-NF20180521X-A/B/C/D/E) that also features a DVD-R with the whole 22 May concert and 7 songs from the 25th May show.

Thee second London concert can also be found on cdr as London Stadium 25 May 2018,   then on silver as London 2018 2nd Night (Crystal Cat 1095-6), Welcome Home The R.Stones (Rattlesnake RS 313-4) as well as No Filter in London 2nd Night (Xavel SMS 163)   and as part of London is Burning set (Empress Valley EVSD 1058-63). Both London shows here are average audience recordings widely   circulating. The Stones last played in Southampton on October 9 1966 ending their 7th British Tour, although at the start of the show Jagger incorrectly says it was in 1963 they last played there on the bands s first UK Tour. This is a nice recording of a relaxed performance.

This concert came out on cdr as Southampton May 20, 2018 (Rubber Duck Prod. RS 045) and on silver as Southampton 2018 a 2 cd no label from Japan. As well as Southampton/Coventry 2018 ((Exile EXCDR-NF20180506-A/B/C/D/E) a 4 cdr + 1 DVD-R which documented both dates. The Coventry concert was released on cdr as Coventry, June 2nd, 2018 (Rubber Duck RS 046), on silver disc as No Filter in Coventry (Xavel   SMS 164) soon copied on Hear It Like The Stones (WLR NF 06), while 2 songs can be found on Welcome Home The R.Stones 1 (Rattlesnake 311-2) and the same ones on No Filter in London 1st Night (Crystal Cat 1093-4).

June 5th 2018,marked the very first visit the Stones paid to The Old Trafford Stadium in Manchester which was documented on a 3 LP yellow vinyl set called Shattering Old Trafford (Casino Records), while on compact ion a double cdr called Old Trafford, Manchester, UK, on silver disc as No Filter in Manchester (Xavel SMS-165) and on Hear It Like The Stones (WLR NF-06) with 3 songs appearing on Welcome Home R.Stones 2 (Rattlesnake Rec. RS 313-4) and 2 on No Filter in London 2nd Night (Crystal Cat 1095-6). This is a good recording of an enjoyable performance; the last two shows of this first leg of the tour were released together as Manchester and Edinburgh UK (sic!) 4 cdr + DVD-R set that has all of the Manchester concert on video plus six songs from Edinburgh (Exile EXCDR NF20180659 ABCDE).

The Scotland stop this time was in Edinburgh and it has so far been documented on a 2 cdr set called Edinburgh .Murrayfield Stadium June 9th 2018 (Rubber Duck Productions RDP RS-048). It is a pity nobody has released the IEM version of this concert which circulates among collectors.

Finally the accompanying DVD presents the tour opening show in Dublin, copied from Welcome to Dublin (midimannz production) a blu ray disc which collected YouTube videos posted on that platform. It is certainly weird to have Sympathy For The Devil as the opening number, especially in daytime, on the other side the video quality is often very good with great close ups (Pain It Black) and an excellent audio soundtrack.

This box has the merit of presenting the whole first leg of the tour with good audience recordings, although not the best available on the market, as well as an excellent video of the first show.
