REVIEW: |
This
release presents the Stones 1970 stop in Stuttgart, this recording appeared at
first on tape in a very poor shape in mono, then in 1998 on a cd called European
Tour Stuttgart 1970 (VGP 187) and then as part of Germany 1970 (DAC 070) in 2007
offering a different source and later on Brown Sugar, White Snow (DAC 174) which
came from a stereo source converted in mono by the label in 2017. However, this
stereo recording had been released in Japan in 2016 as such on a no label cd
simply called Stuttgart 1970 said to come from a first generation copy of the master
tape. This release presents indeed a nice version of the Stuttgart recording
with clear vocals and instruments despite some audience interference, mostly at
the end of the songs though. Just like Malmo this recording too from Love in
Vain improves a lot, in Midnight Rambler there is a great series of harmonica
solos by Jagger hardly heard in other versions of this song. Overall this was a
very good concert, well documented now.
