REVIEW:

This new  release from Ultra Fine presents the 1997 St.Louis broadcast in the best possible quality; this concert has already come out   on Meet Us in St.Louis 2 DVD-R, More Poison (STO 030-X), St.Louis 97 (WOW 068), TWA Domew St.Louis (RSVP 2000) and a selection of songs (all but 6)were released on Bridges to Babylon Eagle Rocks in June 1998 and Bridges to Babylon On Tour 97-98 (Warner Bros.) in November 1998, 4 songs on Back to Babylon promo video in May 1998, three tracks on RS On TV Volume 3 1989-1998 while Out Of Control with additional concert footage was released as a promotional video, directed by Bruce Gowers and Dick Carruthers. It needs to be remembered also that songs like Corrina, Corrina, Waiting on a Friend and The Last Time ended on No Security cd that was released   on October 21 st 1998 in Japan and on November 2nd in Europe and November 3rd   in America.

The first disc is split in 2 chapters, PPV Pre Show and PPV Entire Concert; the PPV Pre Show comes from VHS recording (cover says DV Camera Pro Master), at 9.20 through 10.00 there is silence during M.Cohl interview due to satellite fault, then we get Jagger ,Richards, Lisa Fischer as well as Taj Mahal and Kenny Wayne Shepherd plus footage of the soundcheck, then Richards, Wood ,Watts, Jagger and Cohl interviewed again and interviews to audience members on the field; at 0.44 then there is the presentation with the band that is seen coming on stage, there is a huge black rectangular cell that blocks (most likely) the official source.

The Pay Per View show which has been remastered in stereo comes from a restored Master and is visually better, less grainy and although not in 16:9, kind of close to that. A funny scene is on the Band s Introductions when Charlie Watts is caught whistling with two fingers in his mouth   when Darryl Jones name is announced by Jagger, a never before seen moment.

Disc Two presents a special combination that means that to the remix stereo tracks (version B) have been added some tracks with remastered stereo (version A); it is not clear where these version A   tracks come from, however they are: Anybody Seen My Baby?, Corrina Corrina, Band Introductions, All About You and The Last Time.

This is a nice release that although it is hard to call Definitive (that could probably be a real digital not converted version) presents nice Pre show actions and interviews as well as a restored full concert with remastered audio in stereo

The best toys are the ones that are both educational and multi-purposeful.
