This release actually came out after the firsts Hyde Park show as can be seen by the label number, however we decided to review them in chronological order; its title is ironic however, due to the real weather fans and band members experienced, it was quite cold. The Stones came back after 9 years to the same location of their legendary 1969 concert with the same strategy to have 2 concerts a week apart. This recording is a nice one, with minimal audience interference and no noticeable wind disturbance (it was quite windy on that occasion in London); in the set-list we get She’s A Rainbow and Can’t You Hear Me Knocking and at the end of the show Gimme Shelter is played earlier than usual with Sympathy For The Devil as the first encore, most likely due to better playing it when it gets dark. This concert also marked the return of Sasha Allen who was replaced by Chantal Haynes in the previous show in Milan. The usual moaners complained about ‘bum notes’ and the like, this was not certainly one of the best Stones shows, but not one of the worst either; from the Hyde Park concerts Empress Valley started a huge covering of the Stones 2022 Euro shows which we will review, probably such ‘attention’ has been determined by the alleged demise of DAC label.
