REVIEW:

First ...take a look at the setlist.....the BOLD printed songs are rarities and we're talking TRUE rarities here. If that isn't reason enough to buy this CD it's THE QUALITY. The Godfatherecords keeps pumping out D&D shows on CD. What I know is that, this is their last one and a great  D&D Swan Song it is. Their "home taper", Al, has done an amazing job capturing these now already legendary shows on tape in STUNNING quality. A well balanced recording with excellent highs and lows, sometimes a little too much audience participation but who can blame the audience for being enthusiastic?

All of the recent GFR releases (Berlin, and of course the stunning Milwaukee performance!) are among the best of the tour but this one gives them both a run for their money.

The D&D Tour brought us some amazing performances and rare renditions of classic Springsteen material. The Trenton Set opens with "Born In The USA" with Bruce singing on the bulletmike. Same thing he does on "Saint In The City" & "Fire".  I found it refreshing and impressive on "Reason To Believe"...these versions are all very interesting but not as haunting as RTB. The highlight on disc one is a tie.. it's hard to chose between killer renditions of "Zero and Blind Terry" and the beautifull "Drive All Night".

Disc 2 opens with the superb "Further on Up The Road" but ""Song For The Orphans", "Growing Up" and especially "Thundercrack" are among the best performances of the tour. Too bad he didn't (re) discover these earlier on in the tour.

Disc 3 is all the different tracks from night one. "Two For The Road" (I belive it was the b-side of "Tunnel Of Love" if I'm not mistaken) is a true gem and quite a rarity. "Santa Ana" has an excellent introduction where Bruce mentions Sirius radio's Bruce Springsteen Channel where he checks into when he wants to know something about himself he didn't know yet..................and dedicates the song to those people who know more about him than he does himself.

That's Trenton, NJ in short...........I'd say go out (or online), buy it and let the music do the talking! This material is strongly recommended!!!
