When a CD release is stuffed with bonus tracks I often get suspicious! Why all this extra content? To make the purchase worthwhile, as the actual performance it´s made up of lacks in quality? Or........??? Well, whatever it is, NO BONUS TRACKS on "Keep On dreaming"! For the simple reason that the main performance stands on itself as a stunning performance in the best quality available on ANY factory pressed Devils And Dust show so far. The Godfather Records managed to come up with a source tape that will stand the test of time and can match an FM Broadcast!! The audience recording is stunning! What can I say, it´s clear, full, and the instruments are clear in the mix with Bruce´s "storytelling" voice nicely upfront without being too prominent. And most of all, NO ANNOYING audience participation or people ordering beers, complaining about the person in front of them, or discussing that nights meal or whatever. The audience is only there before the song starts and after it ends. This makes this the best listenable and most enjoyable D&D show so far on CD.
The Godfather Records already hit a homerun with their Italian Trilogy but despite the fact that these are great concerts in great quality with an excellent slew of rare bonus tracks they are nothing compared to this all new release.
The performance is one of the best of the tour. The show opens with a stunning, rarely performed rendition of "Adam Raised A Cain", directly followed by the amazing "Reasons To Believe". When Bruce hits the body of his guitar you actually FEEL it, that´s how good the sound is! Rarities include "Two Faces", "Spare Parts", "Part Man Part Monkey" and a beautifull rare rendition of "Paradise".
So far this is THE D&D release to own! It kicks the hell out of Crystal Cats Point Night that was already stunning but this is far better - not only in quality but also performance wise!
