REVIEW:

This is one of those "labor of love" packages that a true fan, with access to all the right tools and connections…puts together. It is an excellent time capsule that documents the 1988 Tunnel Of Love Tour extremely well.

The main body of footage presented here are two, one-hour segments from the middle part of the show. The video is stellar and the soundboard audio is beautiful. Wrap it up with some professionally designed graphics and it's hard not to convince joe blow this isn't legit! There is only one negative to this footage. There is a timer running at the bottom of the screen, for the duration of the main video from Copenhagen and Basel. In all honesty it's trivial, given the master appearance of the material being presented. But it does get a bit annoying after awhile.

I found the most interesting inclusion was the footage tagged onto the end. Bruce evidently surprised a street performer in July of '88, when he was in Copenhagen, by performing requests for passers by. Some local with a camcorder caught it all on video and here it is- an impromptu event that is fun to watch. It is in perfect contrast to the incredibly slick master tapes we witness for the 100 minutes prior to that. To paraphrase from the booklet included: "The exact source for this material is a little mysterious, though the footage itself obviously derides from the basic footage used live on the big screens at the concerts." I think this is probably correct, based on what I see here.

This is all master quality, professionally shot footage. A wonderful package for your Boss video collection. These are silver pressed discs and you can purchase this one without any hesitation. Now let's hope the! vaults stay open and we see more '88 footage from the first part of the sets. Better yet….give us some master video from the earlier tours!
