REVIEW:

According to the liner notes this project began with a post from Heiloobaas on IORR [iorr.org] that offered a mysterious series of live tracks sai to come from Hoorn 2001, but track listings did not match. After long researches the origin of every track was finally found: two were coming from Hoorn (Leather Jacket and Alabama) and all the other ones from Verviers 01.12.2001 (cf. FP 071).
Because they were in a better quality than what was circulating before, it was decided to make a mix of both sources to get the complete show in the best possible sound quality; hopefully the other tracks from this better source will surface someday as well.

The Line-up for this gig consisted of Mick Taylor on guitar and vocals, Max Middleton on keyboards, Michael Bailey on bass and vocals and Godfrey McLean on drums.

Concerning the previous version the sound was boosted (+8 db), some microgaps between the tracks were deleted and the transition between songs have been reworked, now each track begins with a song. Goin South was split in two parts, now they have been joined but one second was lost at 7’02. Concerning the two new and better sounding tracks from Heiloobaas version: the channels have been rebalanced, and tracks duplicated. The 50 seconds banter at the end of Leather Jacket and the 20 seconds at the end of Alabama come from the old version. Now Taylor fans will surely appreciate this new release, although it must be said that the difference between the two versions is huge, the tracks up to Losing My Faith are of excellent quality, the rest not that much. Disc Two begins with Leather Jacket, an old song Taylor started playing again in the 2001 shows, here in great sound, Goin South comes from the old version, but sounds good, Alabama and Fed Up Wth The Blues end the show on a great level.

The best toys are the ones that are both educational and multi-purposeful.
