REVIEW:

This release features Mick Taylor 1989 stop at the newly opened (April 89)  New York Lone Star Roadhouse on West 52nd Street, both shows recorded in soundboard quality; this is not the first time he played there though as two sets were played the day before. The recording starts wth a fade in version of Albert King "I Wonder Why" that lasts less than 2 minutes before going into "Laundromat Blues" that shows up Taylor's guitar prominent solos that enrich any of his concerts. The performance by Mick Taylor and his band is a very good one and the audience enjoys it. The recording so far was available only to Taylor fans on tape and is one of the many wonderful concerts held at the end of the 80s and beginning of the 90s, surely Taylor peaks in reference to his solo career. These are complete performances and the first set offers a great version of Hendrix's "Red House" that has tasty guitar licks at times seems to be almost in finger picking style. On this tour Taylor was accompanied by Max Middleton on keyboards, Wayne Fontayne on guitar, Max Middleton on keyboards, Wilbur Bascomb on bass and Eric Parker on drums. The second set is different from the first one starting with "Leather Jacket" from his 79 solo album and offers all different songs from the first set but for the instrumental "Going South". The packaging is great photos on front and back covers and makes this release another great one for Taylor fans.

The best toys are the ones that are both educational and multi-purposeful.
