REVIEW:

Following the world tour with the Rolling Stones Mick Taylor has eclipsed from the music scene, not even attempting to revamp his solo career with live appearances, therefore fans and collectors have to resort to search the net in order to locate unknown performances, hence we have this series of Taylor Lost and Found recordings to feed disgruntled fans. This first volume provides some rarities found on YouTube and posted on a well known Stones message board. This release idea was to create own version adding also 2 more tracks located meanwhile, so here are presented extracts from the Glasgow and the Fibbers York concerts (unfortunately in lossy format). The first three songs come from Glasgow from the 2009 Stephen Date Petit concert that saw Taylor as special guest accompanying a band that also included Chris Borud on bass, Gary O Toole on drums, Lorenzo Mouflier on harmonica and Dave Moore on piano; vocals are provided by Stephen Dale Petit on Love In Vain.

The second part of this release presents 4 tracks from York s Fibbers Club where Taylor own band played in 2012. They feature apart from Taylor himself Zoot Money on keyboards and vocals, Ronnie Johnson on guitar, Michael Bailey on bass and Jeff Allen on drums. None of these recordings have appeared on any silver disc nor seem to be circulating on traders lists either, therefore for completists this series as great appeal.

Sound output is of course not state of the art having been sourced from a lossy format, however the lack of hi fi frequencies and stereo sound have been replaced by a nice equalization work which allows to catch the essence of Taylor s guitar expertise and that is always a plus for his fans. The accompanying artwork thanks DocAndCat and the YT uploaders Powmillon and Clearspot as well as renowned Stones data website The Complete Works.
