REVIEW: |
Volume Twenty-one presents the second show from New York’s Lonestar
Roadhouse in early November 90.
A recording was already circulating but
Maidenlane's version has
a better sound and could function as a nice and welcome alternative to that
recording. So it was decided to keep it after reworking it.
The songs are now
being edited, the recording de-clicked, amplified, both channels rebalanced and
the speed corrected (decelerated by -3%).
Note a gap because of a tape flip in Can’t You Hear Me Knocking at 6’30; in
the previous source there was also a gap… but in a different place. Anyway,
this is yet another exciting recording from Mick Taylor and band. For once the
track listing features two unusual songs, Sunnyland a torrid Elmore James cover
and a rendition of Stop Breaking Down with a passage where Stones In My Passway
is played.
