REVIEW:

Volume Twenty-two presents the first show from New York’s Lonestar Roadhouse in mid-May 92. Here the line-up was: Mick Taylor on guitar and vocals, Jimmie Wood on vocals, harmonica and guitar, Jimmy King on guitar and backing vocals, Greg Boaz on bass and backing vocals and David Salinas on drums. Two recordings were already circulating, but one of the versions was very saturated. So, Maidenlane's version could function as a nice and welcome alternative. All songs have now been edited, the recording de-clicked, amplified and the channels rebalanced with their speed corrected (decelerated by -1%). S ome digital noises in the tuning part and in You Gotta Move at 6’16 have been deleted.

Note a gap after Shake Your Hips because of a tape flip but no music was lost. This version of the Mick Taylor band is certainly special as the songs selection which differ a lot from all previous shows; it seems that Taylor was somehow more focused here and his solos are scorchingly beautiful. Unfortunately, there is no official document available of this band’s version, this recording however can supply since it is excellent.

The best toys are the ones that are both educational and multi-purposeful.
