REVIEW: |
In this volume we get the second show from New York’s
Lone Star Café in late March 89; f
or this show two recordings were already
circulating but coming from the same source. One had a better spectrum but was saturated,
so the one used here was the other one to test mixes/merges with the Maidenlane’s
recording. The better result came from a merge of both sources. The previous
version has also been de-clicked and its channel equilibrated.
Note that
the last 18 seconds of Goin’ South (banter) and the first 15 seconds of Can’t
You Hear Me Knocking come from the previous sources only because they were not
on the Maidenlane’s recording and that a gap remains after Red House because of
tape flip on both recordings. Despite all this we got a remarkably good output
that serves to document this concert at its best.
