REVIEW: |
This Munich concert played in the spring of 1990 featured Taylor supported by Blondie
Chaplin on
guitar (not on cover though
where Shayne Fontaine is mentioned), Max Middleton on keyboards, Wilbur Bascomb
on bass and Eric Parker on drums. The first two songs were televised by German
tv Tele 5, here is the concert footage shot from the audience. Blondie Chaplin
is the author of "Semolina" which he sings with Taylor playing a great solo midway. The set list
is classic Taylor presenting many blues songs
that have been in his repertoire for many years as well as "Leather Jacket" not
often played live; the long version of "Going South" is certainly one highlight
of this concert as well as Taylor's version of Jimi Hendrix "Red House". The concert seems to be over after the
first encore of "You Gotta Move" but by popular demand the band comes back for "Can't You Hear Me Knocking" which here lasts only three minutes, the taper was
surprised as well. Video quality is very good steady and fully coloured, the
audio a bit low but ok.
