REVIEW:

This double disc set presents the soundcheck of Taylor s 1997 Hamburg concert, o f course a soundcheck is not done to be listened to by an audience, so there are many silent parts, comments or discussions here. On the first disc there is the complete soundcheck , nothing has been done to it except separating the different sequences. The second disc shows instead only the highlights, a

reconstructed sequences with some interesting music snippets (many of these pieces have been reworked): some passages are very good and it is more likely that you will re-listen to them. The Blues Riffs and Losing My Faith Extracts offers just Taylor playing his solo, the second instead is played by the whole band; there are anyway some useless tracks here, like the conversation in German between the taper and his friend (Tracks 2 and 18) and the track called Silence which in fact is Taylor talking to some band member while Warm Up With Riffs features the bass player and drummer only. Disc Two is just a collection of the more consistent tracks without warm up sounds and riffs. The sound output is truly amazing and these tracks are certainly to be appreciated by every Taylorite (Mick Taylor fans and collectors) in the meager days.
