REVIEW:

Another excellent release from Apocalypse Sound.  This title gathers rarities from the band during the "Rattle & Hum" period and both the video & sound are fantastic.  The core content is certainly taken direct from broadcast or extremely low generation video.  With the sound in PCM Stereo it is quite lively and powerful.

As far as content, the lead off Sydney video from Australian TV is fun to watch but it certainly produced for promotional purposes.  Great to see them with B.B. King and having fun offstage.  However, there is no flow.  The music featured is really just a bonus.  The rest is pretty self explanatory and the features provided give us insights to projects going on at the time, really after the "Rattle & Hum" Tour.  The Dublin '91 segment for "My Wild Iris Rose" is the worst of the video content, quality-wise.  Apocalypse Sound has used a pretty high-gen source but the audio is excellent.

For me, the best stuff on the disc is the bonus feature videos with the seldom seen "Old Grey Whistle Test" broadcast & unbroadcasted performances.  It's cool to see what was not seen!  Interesting versions of "People Get Ready" & "Southern Man" are certainly the highlights.  The video for this isn't quite as nice as the core material but, still VERY enjoyable.

Great production throughout on this one.  The only negative comment at all is the navigation through the menus.  You can access each chapter as you wish but....getting back to the main is just too many clicks!  My we have gotten picky & lazy!

The best toys are the ones that are both educational and multi-purposeful.
