REVIEW: |
The birth of the British Blues scene has always been a fascinating subject. From that the British bands acknowledged the great soulful music that was created in the States southern regions but didn t spread in the public awareness and brought it back again. This documentary originally broadcasted from BBC4 in May 2009 and repeated many times is a wonderful example of how good a tv documentary can be. BBC4 broadcasts with no adverts and this 90 minutes film presents both original black & white footage from the early 60s with great modern interviews of musicians like Bill Wyman, Keith Richards, Chis Dreja, Chris Barber, Ian Anderson, Mick Fleetwood, Phil May that lived that era and are still here to recount it. As a bonus (not mentioned on cover) there is the 1973 Australian documentary, re-broadcasted on 31 July 1994: this documentary comes in black & white but acceptable quality and is interesting not only for the band members interviews but also for the live footage.
