This release presents the recent Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 25^th Year Celebration all in one disc, using the DVD-9 technology and this digipack deserves mention because of crisp images and audio. All acts that played at Madison Square Garden New York on two days at the end of October 2009 are here. The two days was broadcasted by HBO and this set presents it all minus the obtrusive commercials thus fitting everything in 1 disc; picture and sound are the best possible and this great get together can be said defines the end of this century first decade in style. The concert starts after a spoken introduction by Tom Hanks with Jerry Lee Lewis soon followed by Crosby,Stills and Nash whose set has guests like Bonnie Raitt, Jackson Brown and James Taylor. Stevie Wonder then comes to the stage and he is helped by heavy duties too: Smokey Robinson, BB King, Sting and Jeff Beck.

U2 come after with a couple of tracks from their past and some guests like Patti Smith and Bruce Springsteen playing "Because The Night" together and just Bruce on "I Still Haven't Found What I m Looking For" . Then there is  a version of "Gimme Shelter" where Mick Jagger comes on stage together with Black Eyed Pea vocalist Fergie doing the female part. Jagger stays for "Stuck In A Moment You Can't Get Out Of" having a duet with Bono on this song. The first night concert ends with U2 last song "Beautiful Day". The second night is longer having some players from the previous night as well: the first act is Aretha Franklin, introduced by vintage footage and a recorded intro by the late Ahmet Ertegun to whom she dedicates "Don't Play This Song". Backed by her band and an orchestra she performs "Chain Of Fools" together with Annie Lennox. Then is time for Paul Simon that at first comes on stage performing his solo hit "You Can Call Me Al" and then is joined by Crosby & Nash playing George Harrison's "Here Comes The Sun". What follows is a back jump into early rock & roll with Dion Dimucci that comes on stage to play his hit "The Wanderer" from the Dion & The Belmonts days followed by Anthony & The Imperials singing in pure doo wop style. Finally then Simon pairs up with Art Garfunkel playing their most known hits. Next is Jeff Beck who was inducted as solo artist in 2009; he is accompanied by Sting and later by Buddy Guy followed by ZZ Top Billy Gibbons and they play "Foxy Lady" as tribute song to Jimi Hendrix. Heavy Metal is next with Metallica who have Ozzie Osbourne as guest playing a couple of Sabbath classics. Then is Soul time since Sam Moore is introduced by Bruce Springsteen and plays classic 60s soul hits; John Fogerty plays a Creedence song and with Springsteen an homage to the late Roy Orbison. The E Street Band is given a solo spot before accompanying Darlene Love first and Billy Joel later. The final jam "Higher And Higher" brings onstage many performers as usual and this 25^th Year Anniversary Celebration ends on a high note, a great concert whose current selected location couldn t have been chosen better as the Madison Square Garden seems the most likely venue to hold so many stars.
