REVIEW:

Many seminal radio shows from the 60s were certainly coming from the BBC Radio on Transcription Discs eagerly looked after by many collectors because they contained live songs and interviews from many top class artists. When digital discs came of use in radio for radio shows one of the best known company, Westwood One, rebroadcast many BBC 60s shows under the series name The 60s at the Beeb. These 4 double sets present copies of the radio show with relevant unique recordings and interviews: Disc one has a massive predominance of Beatles from November and December 64. Other interestintg parts include the description of Jeff Beck first appearance with the Yardbirds and the Stones first successful attempt in writing a beat song "The Last Time", performed live from March 1st 1965. Disc two has a wider variety of acts starting with the Animals with long Eric Burden interview but also The Who are a highlight here with the Townshend interview; this disc also features the Beatles last broadcast from May 1965.
