REVIEW: |
This weird
release comes on vinyl as well as on cd and presents the original songs that
inspired the Rolling Stones at the beginning of their career. It is technically
a counterfeit rather than a bootleg and present some rare takes like Confessin
The Blues by Walter Brown , Cops And Robbers by Boogaloo & His Gallant
Crew, Don t Lie To Me by Tampa Red, Down The Road Apiece by Will Bradley and Route
66 by the Nat King Cole Trio spanning from 1937 (Love In Vain) and 1940 (Don t
Lie To Me) through 1958 (You Can Make It If You Try). These songs are really
inspiring after all these years, it is the power of original songs that is
still connected whatever the medium you have to use to hear them even if it is
pretty sure that in some cases the Stones heard them second hand too (Don t Lie
To Me by Chuck Berry, for instance).
