REVIEW:

The Vigatone release of this tape many years ago sent sivers down the spine of the Beatles/Wings collecting community.  This is a professionally recorded and mixed show intended for release but scrapped.  This is perhaps the best concert from the final Wings tour.  The winter tour in support of the much maligned Back To The Egg album had been overlooked for some time due to the paucity of the source tapes.

SilverApple, a Japanese label, simply copied the Vigatone release including the officially released set from the Kampuchea concert several weeks afterwards setting a pattern for future releases.  This is a good way to find this show.

The show itself is excellent.  Mixing seldom played songs with material from Back To The Egg and of course some Beatle material make this set a winner.  The highlight for me is the rare Wonderful Christmastime followed by Coming Up and the robo-driven Goodnight Tonight.  The emotional finale of Mull Of Kintyre is icing on the cake of a very strong show.  If you can find this tape in any form (and there are more releases), do yourself a favor and find it.

The best toys are the ones that are both educational and multi-purposeful.
