REVIEW:

This release from DAC presents a bunch of TV shows in great audio quality, especially the 1968-69 ones that have been released officially on DVD. The beginning presents the Arthur Haynes Show from 1964 (miraculously preserved on 16 mm. film), followed by the famous Pollwinners shows from 64 and 65 (coming from a tape recording available for the first time),  there are then some Ready, Steady Go! Episodes, that are notably better sounding than before, particularly stunning is the version of Everybody Needs Somebody To Love from August 64. Then the Mike Douglas show again a great improvement in audio quality, here featuring complete versions of Not Fade Away and of I Just Wanna Make Love To You. After we get  Satisfaction live from the 1965 German Tour: this is something of a mystery since it is not Hamburg nor Munster or Berlin, could be coming from Essen that was broadcasted on Teen Time; in fact it is introduced by Brian Jones. The collection ends with the 2 David Frost live ventures. There have been many underground records featuring these tracks, jut like the recently released The Brian Jones Memorial Album (DAC 170 and SG 371969), namely Dartford Renegades (DAC 018) , Radio TV & Session Anthology   1963-1969 (RS Box 1-4), the tracks 3-9 released on All Those Years Ago (VGP 079), Bright Lights, Big City (RSBLBC3042173) , Down The Road Apiece (VGP 303),   On Television 1964-65 (Decca 64656), Beast of Eden (Heartland Love 1), The Crème of the Hot Stuff GEMA), Raw Power (Blue Moon 41), tracks 16-18 have been released on Animal Duds (Magic Dwarfs on vinyl and DAC 064) but they were coming from mp3 source, here again they come from tape with a much better sound while track 24 was released as Don t Lie To Me (RS 90-8078), Extended Play (Great Live Concerts RR-EEP-30), Special Collectors Series vol.3 (OBR 93003), Thu The Years (The Amazing Pig   RS-MV1 5-PRO) and The Riot Show (Magic Dwarf Rec. MDR1). Track 27 was previously released on Summer Re-Runs (TMOQ 72011 & VGP 034).
