combo release focus again on the Stones Undercover alternates and outtakes presenting
also some official 12
mixes releases. As
for previous underground that covered these sessions we have to remember on
vinyl Undercover Outtakes, Goin Mad & Wild, All Mixed Up, Think You Like
It, Still on the Road ep, Learning the Game and on compact Play the Tattoo,
Censored, In the Eighties, The Pain of Love, Chainsaw Massacre, Jamming with
Stu, All Mixed Up and recently Undercover Complete Recording Sessions (SBA);
the latter one is clearly the source for this Goldplate release
which however is not just a verbatim copy of
that. The first disc is basically the same as Disc Five having however placed
Undercover Of The Night as first track and includes She Was Hot promo video
complete version, which means the final seconds when they broadcast Off The
On Disc Two there is an are extra
track compared with Disc Two of SBA release, namely She Was Hot country version
source 2 which has a louder volume than source one; but it must be said that
the latter take is here unedited featuring Jagger counting at the beginning.
thing happens on Disc Three, here there is Wanna Hold You II and four takes
What I Am Saying Is True (basement
demo) which was the early version of Cooking Up, while Discs Four and Five are
identical. Disc Six presents however a copy of a radio show that was
broadcasted to promote the album, called The Source which includes many
comments from Jagger, as well as commercials. Too bad neither this set, nor the
SBA one, did include I Can t See Nobody, a song that appeared some weeks after
the whole Foxes in the Boxes lot came out which included new Undercover
sessions tracks. However this is far from being the Definitive Undercover
Sessions release, since about 7 unheard tracks are circulating among high rank
collectors which someday may be available to normal collectors as well.
