REVIEW:
This newly released set presents in 3 discs digitally mastered versions of the very best of the legendary live to air broadcasts by the classic '60s Rolling Stones line-up of Jagger/Richards/Jones/Wyman and Watts. Particularly good is the cover embellished with Rodney Matthews artwork. This set contains 3 picture discs housed in a triple fold gatefold digipack, they all having a great sounding output and are each dedicated to different subjects: Disc One to the UK Broadcasts, Disc Two to the Live Paris broadcasts and Disc Three to the American broadcasts. In fact the main theme of this collection is set by its title which is dedicated to Get Off Of My Cloud the single that followed Satisfaction, however all tracks are in excellent sound output; packaging is great with any disc housed in a different pocket of each three fold sides. Anyway to locate the tracks sources they can be just found on the discs themselves and not on the cover. Listening to these broadcasts there are some things that are noticed, first of all the excellent quality, then on the famous stereo 64 tracks hosted by Long John Baldry there seem to be a greater stereo separation between the two guitars (Route 66) and anyway the recording is edited, missing L.J. Baldry remarks on early mornings right after You Better Move On. The second disc starts with three tracks from Paris 1966 in excellent quality, this is a wide mono recording, that at first hearing seems almost stereo, anyway there is great prominence of Bill Wyman s bass, this the famous show where Jagger mumbles some words from Hang On Sloopy at the beginning of Get Off Of My Cloud. The 1965 concert is Paris follows in its entirety, unfortunately this time the output is similar to the dozens of recordings we have from this show. The last disc focus on the American broadcasts featuring a host of Ed Sullivan shows but ending with the Mike Douglas show from 1964 of which we can hear the two tracks they played live (the other two being in playback).

This set too could be a nice introduction for new fans to this great band honouring its early broadcasts.

Apologies for the artwork being here, but looks like there is an internal bug in the system that prevents me to upload it as usual.
